New Year Ride- Guisbro Woods 2/01/11

Snow is thawing fast and New Years Eve is forcast dry. Time to get the new year under way!

Sunday 2nd Jan, meet 10:00am

Pinchinthorpe Visitor Centre, nr Guisbro' TS14 8HD

10-15 miles of mixed forest trail and Singletrack. All welcome, modern or retro.

We've been out a couple of times this week but the conditions are worse than the thick snow, the packed ice is now covered in water and you dont have a clue whats under your tyres.

I was going to try Dalby before I go back to work but Gil says only the fireroads are rideable

Dalby still sounds impossibke due to all the fallen branches. Vern has been looking at Guisbro Woods and says that although the fireroads still have slushy snow and ice, the singletrack under the trees is looking good.

So how about a Sunday morning meet at Pinchinthorpe?

Right then everything is looking good for Sunday, So what time do you want to meet at ?? It will be a fire-road & singletrack ride, Guisborough's trails are mostly natural so it maybe a bit soft in places but will be perfectly rideable

So who fancies playing out ?

Hoping to go to Dalby Monday, but sounds like the trees are still an issue?

Went to llandegla today, that was clear

Did Gisburn on Tuesday, the slush was a nightmare, but should be gone now. Also did Gisburn in the snow on boxing day, it was great

Word from gil and also on Singletraction is that Dalby is a no go due to fallen trees and branches. Still a lot of slushy stuff around too.
