New toy, Mercian but not sure of age/model serial 5 112 2000

Hi there ive just bought a Mercian cycle, im collecting it on saturday morning,
Can anybody shed any light on the model and year of the bike, the serial number ive been told is
5
112
2000

Hi Neil

Judging by the photos, frame number, 853 tubing and components that it is a 2000 model King of Mercia in road geometry.

Year due to number ending in 2000 which ties in with 853 and components. I am sure that off the peg models it was only King of Mercia which has the Mercian top caps and the road geometry as it runs the setup for sidepull brakes on a brake bridge rather than the touring geometry which has canti brakes and posts.
That would be my take on it from what I understand of the system for later numbers.
Lovely looking paint scheme and a fine looking setup all round. A quick wash and polish and you look good to go. I'm sure you'll have many, many happy miles on this.
