Re:

Yeah, i know a shop that sells them new. Doesnt make a slight bit of difference to me whether its reissue or not really. They're still uncomfortable as hell!

That's one of the reissues I think.

Do you know if there are any differences with the reissues other than the heat molded date underneath?

Not a loaded question - one of my flite seats has gone banana shaped and needs replacing. Those reissues look spot on as far as I can see. If it's just the date underneath then I'm game :)

Re:

They are the same, even the packaging has a 90s look about it

The reissue ones always say 1990 even though the original flite was made until later than that

Really? How could selle italia manage the warranty / product liability on that ?

The originals have a bit underneath the seat that looks like a moulded in circle. The year of manufacture is in the centre, and the month of manufacture is around the edge. It's hot stamped into the plastic with something like this:

Do the reissues say '90' on this stamp, or just on the box?

edit: not that any of this matters - if they're the same anyway. It is just somewhere to park your arse, eh

Strange that been into mtb for over 20 years and never properly tried a Flite.
I know they have a big following.
As above, if they look the same then that's all that matters.

Re: Re:

Reissues have rails that are slightly lower than the originals to stop the leather getting damaged by a seatpost clamp.

It's part of the mold isn't it?
