New Shoes, NOS Caratti

I picked up these NOS Caratti shoes a few weeks ago. I actually bought a second hand pair off ebay about ten years ago but they were just on the tight size at 45 so I sold them on again. I bagged these at the Penkridge jumble in October with a few other bits. A big grin when I tried them on
Any how's, work has been a bit silly recently so I finally managed to ride out with them today on a lovely bright autumn day.
I was going to cut them for SPD's but I might leave them alone and use with the toeclips I have on this bike.

Wow, I had a pair of those. First sniff of mud though and the velcro went on strike leaving you with a colourful pair of Alpine Stars rip-off slippers

I too had a pair of these, BITD, my first SPD shoes. I really wanted the Alpinestars splatter shoes but couldn't justify the cost, so settled for the Caratti option.

Nice find - just the sort of things that jumbles do yield.
I think you are brave wearing them though!
I've got a few pairs of NOS Shimano shoes and even in their boxes they have begun to degrade. It's the glues used to hold them together rather than the actual fabrics though, and I could see the uppers pulling away from the soles if used in anger
