watching this one as I have 2 x similar projects on the back burner and wondering which way to go with them or just to sell the framesets ( I dont like suspension forks but have bought 2 sets pace and rock shox) will try to get some inspiration form this one as it develops. Great work on the polishing and cleaning - its worth it in the end

Thank you, do you have a build thread for yours?

I just need time to sort the travel upgrade on the fork and then this shouldn’t take long to build as everything is there I believe

About time I worked sone more on this bike build.

The original RockShox FSX brace has a small crack on the drive side where the Allen bolt goes, a known issue. It was only small and I thought I’d live with it but I needed the missing hanger and when I saw one of the US repro made ones in the UK for sale much cheaper than the new price, I grabbed it.

You can see they added a bit more meat to stop this happening again on the repros.

Now just need to add the NOS internals to up the travel and the forks ready

Started the build whilst I’m waiting for some new decals from Gil plus a grannie ring and rear brake booster from a member here.

I can’t decide if I prefer the silver cranks with black RaceFace rings or black with bronze rings?

I’ve gone with the Ti Syncros post rather than the black RaceFace XY, I think the bike needs that bit of silver colour hence why I think the silver cranks will work better too with black DMR V12 mag pedals.

I’m also tempted to find some nice Ti straight bars and red barends rather than risers although I know what my back will prefer

Tough choice. The silver with black matches nicely with the Rockshox, but for some reason, I'm still drawn to the black with bronze. It could be that it would look great on MY bike

I think the black with bronze looks classier but yes, the silver with black goes nicely with the fork. I’ll keep both until I finally decide them one will be up for sale online with other bits I chose not to fit.
