Getting that bike building buz again, decided to SS the Parkpre Team 925. Bought all the bits just waiting for them to start arriving next week. Sort of told the mrs that I was buying a few bits which she agreed to then got a bit carried away and spent far too much. Maybe this will be the only SS Parkpre on RB?

Funny you should say that, was talking to my bro over the weekend about the rusty pro 825 and i've decided to white powder coat it (and the original rigid forks that came with it) and turn it into an ultra lightweight single speed.

Have another ultra shiny 825 in the post coming our way

I was going to go down the Argos Cycles route, get it shot blasted - primed - painted - decaled - laquered but decided to keep the frame as it is (slight surface rust but have seen worse) build it up to see how it handles as a SS. Always have the option to go down the total refurb route in the future.

I agree with you, if there is only slight surface rust then best keep it original. Mine has a lot more, cleaned up will show plenty of pitting, so I think a nice paint job and new decals will smarten it up

they should rename this site singlespeed, dont remember seeing many in the 80`s or 90`s though

All bikes started out as single speed, so just going back to their roots :D

Never owned one, but I thought I could make a nice lightweight machine out of my nearly dead frame, thats all

I'm on the lookout for an 825/925 to SS myself. I had a Comp Limited BITD and am lucky enough to still live in the same town as the UK distributors were based. At the time, the local area had much more than it's fair share of the national distribution of parkpres so I figure there must still be some around, hopefully unwanted.

If you spot anything you might not be intrested in then give me a shout ;)
