Having heard about the ride quality of the breezer bikes, as well as the v cool history of the brand, I was always semi on the lookout for one. This one came up on eBay: it’s seen a lot of action but seems solid and nice it has the original stem.

I’m not into the colour scheme enough to bother getting it painted, although I know it does deserve that. One day I’ll sell it to one of you lot to give it what it needs 😉

Does anyone know, how do I determine the year?

It cleaned up quite well with just a wipe. There’s a bit of chain suck but no rust to worry about, thankfully. The paint really is bad though.

It seems like a good home for these. But I may get in trouble for some of my other parts choices. It’ll be more of a city cruiser than a period true mtb

Very nice frame & lovely ride; congrats !

Does anyone know, how do I determine the year?

Ruby Red & Moonglow Pearl were paint schemes of 1993 (yours) and 1995 (mine) models; the only noticeable difererence comes from the rear brake solution ... 1993 models came with a Dia Compe cable hanger (and back seatpost bolt) while the 1995 models came with a welded tube (and front seatpost bolt)

Check it a the fantastic Catalogues section:

Yep, paint & decals are not the best ... but as said, lovely ride

Wasn’t very good at updating this in the end, nor taking many photos as I went, but thanks for the comments so far. I chose to go an unconventional route in some ways because I just love a clutch mech, v brakes and high riser bars. It’s got D521 rims as a nod to downhill, and now odyssey pedals as a nod to BMX. Rear hub is a hope xc, ritchey seat post to match the tube set and running a flite now.

Contributors to this thread are right, it’s a very nice bike to ride and I’ve taken it off road a lot. It held its own around Ashton court in Bristol with friends on modern full sussers! I call it the pack of cigs as it reminds me of a pack of Marlboro reds.
