New old member needs help with mystery bike

Retro Newbie
Hi fellas, first of all, let me point out this is not anything rare or desirable it’s just a good old steel road bike, but it rides brilliantly and I like it.

I won’t say any more in case I make a complete fool of myself, so I’ll let the pictures do the talking. Under the rattle can black Lugless frame it appears to be red with a yellow primer (unless it has been painted twice!) and the BB is stamped Y504 32170.

Can any of you knowledgable guys help me identify it please?

I’ve discovered that it is indeed a 1985 model, but haven’t found a match yet with the hidden brake cables and black crankset and that Simplex derailleur, but it’s fun trying to find out!
