New / old cyclist. Hybrid / road / MTB build

If you really want to try skinny tyres I have some 26x1 Continental Grand Prixs which are on my single speed, but I was thinking of selling due to lack of use. They certainly fly with around 100 psi in.

I might well be interested in them.
I do like the idea of having a go.
In all honesty I don't think they will be any use.
I think i will need wider.
a) The comfort
b) The state of the roads. (although I guess it is still the same rims.)
Doesn't mean I wont get some to have a go though.

Do they fit on any 26" rims?
However, first things first.
I should, perhaps, get a bike first?

Right, I am definitely narrowing this down.
Looking forward to testing the theory on the old mtb frame.
I am definitely wanting to sit further back than I can put the saddle.
I am reckoning that the angle of the mtb puts my butt further back compared to what I am on now.
Maybe a more setback post. That will be interesting.

Hands.
Managed very little pain today.
If I tuck my elbows way in, my hands are straighter on the bars.
Then the bony protrusion is not on the bars taking my weight and the vibrations of the rough downhill road.
Phew, it is like luxury. Nice to know that one is easily sorted.
wider bars or angled slightly away from me.

It's critical not to ride with your wrists below the bars - rotate your hand so the the wrist is above the bars. It feels odd at first and takes conscious effort, but you will rapidly relearn.
