New Dawes Imperial

Retro Newbie
Dawes Imperial, purchased new by my Father from Berkshire Cycle Company in Windsor July 1998 he had them change the brakes, gears, stem and saddle at great expense for more modern components, luckily they gave him back all of the original parts they had taken off and even coated them in grease to preserve them. He hung the bike proudly in his garage and it has never been used. The question is do I sell it, restore it back to original or just leave it as is? Any comments or advise greatly appreciated.

Before making any decisions, read this first: Road Test/Bike Review (1986) DAWES Imperial

It's all about the frame, so if you want to keep it build it the way you like it best. If you want to sell it, use the exact content posted above.

(Without the last two sentences, of course. ;))

Me, I think I would like that frame a lot. Great for light touring. I'd certainly want to give it a try.
