I have considerably expanded and reworked my earlier article on the Raleigh Professionals for the U.S. Market, the Mark II-Vs of 1970-1981. These were probably the biggest selling top-quality British-made racing bikes ever made owing to the huge exports to America during its "bike boom" of the early to mid 1970s. Not well known in the U.K., but familiar in that the frames were made by Carlton and sold badged as such in Britain at the same time. The Mark IVs were also the first team bikes of the new TI Raleigh Team in 1972-73.
