Cameron is not the only one who 'forgets' about his previous acts and speeches. Some even forget very fast. Today Dutch TV repeated a programme about Mandela and the various Dutch people who met him. Among them former Amsterdam mayor van Thijn. Scenes of Mandela's first visit to Amsterdam were shown. When Mandela is shown to a balcony by van Thijn you can just hear the last remnants of booing before the crowd changes to cheering. No explanation about that. I was there, I know why. In the front ranks of the square there were many known faces from anti-apartheid demonstrations. Among them many who had been at the blockades of the Shell laboratory in Amsterdam not that many years before. The same man leading Mandela to the balcony was allready mayor of Amsterdam then. He ordered the policy to disperse the blockade using massive violence. It was even the first time in the Netherlands that tear gas was used since the Dodewaard protests. My memory doesn't fail me, it looks like his does fail.
