Neither a bicycle nor a motorcycle

Why do so many hate others having fun, if they enjoy what they are doing then good luck to them.

As for some of the arguments in the article; are they less environmentally friendly than a car to commute? did not motorcycles evolve from someone strapping an engine to a bicycle? Is a bike costing even more, that is designed purely to go downhill not a stranger concept?

Personally, if i had the ridiculously high amount of cash to buy one lying around i would get one tomorrow, they look great fun :)

Just buy a motorbike if you want higher speed / output etc.

E bikes will be the downfall of the pushbike. No wonder there was talk of requiring insurance and registration on all bikes as these just give them extra ammunition with every dick blasting around the local estates on a Surron.

I wonder if before you are allowed to buy a Surron you have to show them your tracksuit, balaclava, gold chain , Staffie , quad , etc
Don't need anymore speed! Can't lift a motorbike over a fence either 😆
E bikes will not be the downfall of bicycle's.
Ebikes and bicycle's will be the downfall of cars.

I never see many ebikes being lifted over many fences whilst out in the peaks. I could be missing them though but not sure that’s possible with all the yellow /pink/orange fluro bikepark wales type clothing that seems to be compulsorily.

Ebikes won’t replace cars As people don’t tend to like getting wet, they like to carry 2-4 other people+ luggage , be able to travel in comfort , be able to go above 15mph etc

By downfall of bicycles I mean the start of regulations which we don’t currently have. Cycling is a freedom currently and It’s coming to a end likely within a shorter time than most realise.

There's several good reasons why powered two wheelers that can go above 15 mph are subject to more rules ( being classfied as motorcycles) not least the massive increase in potential damage to other road/path users.

Trust me not the fear mongering media....
Bikes will never be taxed there will be no registration plates and highly unlikely to have enforced insurance either.
People can't afford e cars....people can't afford petrol. Times a coming fat lady is limbering up in the wings.
The bicycle and moped mobilised Britain after the war....ebikes and bicycle's will be doing the same soon.

I’ve had this opinion way before the media suggested it a few weeks ago. 3rd party Insurance will end up being mandatory and ebikes will be their pathway to do this.

People can afford cars and petrol. Look outside and there isn’t any less cars out there and still lots of money around. Costs are certainly going up but people won’t take a backwards step in lifestyle/travel. The ones who can’t afford petrol I doubt will be spending 5k on a ebike in any significant numbers to notice.

I for one hope we don't have compulsory insurance and number plates because of stupid e bikers. Like the one that wheelied off the pavement in front of us when Jo was driving yesterday. He then wheelied it 10ft of our bumper at 30mph, for 1/2 mile or so. Other than that I have no problem, they have there place.

I cycled out to an evri collection point today to post a parcel. 10-15 minutes on a [real] bike. Bumped into my neighbour who drove his new electric car there. He was chatting to a pal of his, telling him how he's saving the planet by driving electric instead of the old diesel.
Saving the planet by driving electric where you can cycle.
Or saving the planet by driving electric where you can walk.
Or riding a 35kg electric cargo bike where you can walk...

People as species are too lazy not to misuse these ebikes. It's a gateway gizmo to reduced exercise & increased power consumption.

There are stupid e bikers, there are also e bikers, just as there are stupid and non stupid cyclists, mountain bikers, bmxers, runners, walkers, ramblers, motorbikers, scooterists, motorists. We're just people, just like everyone else. Everyone has an opinion and everyone seems to think that they are correct.
I ride my ebike instead of my car, you're welcome, I ride it respectably, fast when I can, slow when I can't. Some ride like idiots, but then many people do many things like idiots, because they are idiots. There isn't an idiot test for anything as as I'm aware. There probably should be.
