I have ridden to the shops and the local hospital on a mountainbike, but not proper off road stuff.
I was supposed to go on a family holiday down to a cottage in Cornwall last week, but my Oncology meeting was on the Wednesday, so I didn't go. The plan this week was for me to go to Malvern on the train and stay at my sister's place, but this thing with my digestion is giving me grief. I have been on the phone to General Practice, Oncologist's secretary, Macmillan Palliative Care Nurse and Colorectal Cancer Nurse Specialist, so I decided the trip to Malvern was off.
I feel as if I have just eaten a massive meal all the time - sort of bloated. It's like my digestive system has slowed down, and I can't fit enough food in during the day. A quality full diet is something that I take pride in eating everyday, but I currently have had to cut my intake right down, which is a concern.
The Cancer Nurse Specialist is due to call me on Monday to see if her suggestion has been beneficial, which it hasn't so far. If it continues, they will have me in for further investigation. I heard stomach and camera in the same sentence, which I don't want to think about at the moment.
All being well, I'm off out tomorrow on the Kawasaki. I found a Trucker's Cafe on the A338 Salisbury Road this week, and apparently it is full of motorcyclists on a Sunday.

Cheers Mark, I have managed to take on board the advice from both of you, and I feel at ease on a Motorway now. Crikey, when I think back at how shoddy my riding was compared to now. It's comforting and reassuring to notice how much I've improved.

Rightyho, I managed another trip out today, which was down to Chopper’s Café
, just South of Burbage on the A388 Salisbury Road.
There were a lot of motorbikes in the car/lorry park, mainly Harleys, a couple of Ducati, a few of those Triumph Speed Triple and two of those brutal fugly Triumph Rocket monstrosities. 2,500cc in three cylinders :shock: ! The engine is as long as a bus, and about as sexy as one.
Ironically, when I turned up, my bike was the smallest there, although one of the fastest – that doesn’t actually count for anything or indeed matter a great deal, but I did make me chuckle.
What did look impressive was a gaggle of Yamaha XJR 1300s. I think they look well handsome – sort of still retaining that 70’s Jap Superbike vibe, like an original Z900. There were 6 there in total – Mmm I wonder what they are like to ride?
From there I went back up the A346 around Savernake Forest to Marlborough, and stop for another chat with a few bikers. There was such a friendly atmosphere in both places, it was great to get amongst it.

Personally i prefer the looks of the GSX1400 but after trying one and also the CB1300, i found the XJR to be a lot better fit. They all look similar but the other two still lean you forward too much and have the pegs further back. In the end though i decided on an 08 GSF1250n Bandit. It hasn't got the same engine as the nutty 1200 Bandit which used the GSXR1200 engine, but it has more torque which i prefer :twisted:

Xjr is a very comfortable muscle bike. Not a razor blade. Handles as you would expect. Very smooth. Had a 1200.
