Re:

Thank you.
I got those forks from Niagara cycle in the USA.

The saddle went into the trash...the rails were rusted quite badly.

And yes, the kitchen and living room is my bike shop...the downside of living in one of the most expensive cities in the world is that a basement and a garage are a far off dream at the moment.

Re:

Looks good. Why didn't you use the original RD? Maybe you said... I didn't read closely. I'd have kept as much 735 as possible and sourced a FD to match. Also a more svelte stem like a cattlehead or even thomson elite.

Thanks. I changed the RD because I had it and prefer the long cage with a triple crankset. The short cage just doesn't quite do it (IMO) for the wide spread of these triple cranks.

Stem can be up to the uncle if he wants something else in a different length or if he wants to upgrade it.

Ahhh, I see now you built it for your uncle. Then it is perfect. The ovalized seat tube is typical of factory bikes. The reason it is done is to save time otherwise the seat tube or downtube (usually downtube) would have to be mitered twice as the oversized tubes would meet. It probably has no noticeable affect on the bike either way, but it is always nice to see the compound miter as it looks better and I can't help but feel that the meeting of the two tubes adds some miniscule amount of rigidity to the BB area.
