Mystery Giant Mountain Bike

Hi all, I wonder if one of you can help identify this Giant mountain bike, I’m looking for a cheap station bike and spotted this project. Do you think the forks are original? It looks like the rest of the frame has been partially rattle canned in black but it’s chipping off. Any ideas what is? Would you say the forks have been changed? All help gratefully received! Not a massive amount of help, but the groupset probably dates it to around 90-92

I think, from the yellow and pink showing through, it might've a stone breaker? Not sure what year, but if you Google it you'll probably find it.

Bit of a deep dive of the internet seem to suggest an early 90's Giant Coldrock (based on the colour-scheme and stickers), but the front forks do look like they've been changed. They should be metallic pink by all accounts. I'll probably pass, otherwise I would have
