Just posting this for fun.
Came across this whilst doing some other work.
Was donated in the early 90’s after a failure. Poss prototype?

1” headtube . Any ideas. Nice chunky welds & stays.

I am pretty positive this is a Specialized Stumpjumber M2 made from Duralcan tubes. Both the welds and the serial number give it away. It has probably broken where most early models would, namely the junction between top and head tube.

i think you are correct, i didnt realise they had 1 " headtube, i thought they was all 1 1/8th

I think from 93 going forward they were all 1 1/8…
