picking it up tomorrow.
the stem and bars just look older and cottered dawes should pre 70's?
my gut feeling is that its a late fifties/early sixties model thats been "upgraded" to crappy simplex mechs during the 70's and the leather saddle has been replaced somewhere along the line too.
I've seen this conversion a number of times.
The old cloth handlebar tape hints at 50's-60's too.
theres a front mech but what looks like a single ring lol.

The Dawes decals look 1970s or maybe early 80s to me, mid to late 1980s definitely had only the D in upper case, like the Horizon in this thread;

The brown smudge on the headtube looks a bit like an uncared-for brass headbadge, which I think they were using until the mid 1960s.
The decals (or more rightly, the unfaded patches of paint where the decals once were) on my 1957 Dawes were script, not uppercase; with that in mind, I'd say it's 1960s at the earliest.
I think until we see some close-up pictures, we're all just speculating!
