Mystery 1920s 30s bike

^ From those pics, it looks a little backward to be a late 30s Sun, but it could be a Club or Sports model or any of their non racy models going on the forks.

That's not a headclip headset btw, it's a roadster headset with a tall locking nut.

Personally, I think the clamp-on brakes might be a red herring. I don't think they belong with the bike.

Useful.info. does a roadster headset have the same bearing race arrangement as the clip type? I had assumed that it was a modified clip headset. I'm not sure about the Sun angle, though some of the models look very similar. The shadow left by the headbadge clearly shows a crown, and probably some kind of a a scroll at the bottom. I'm thinking maybe an Imperial, as that is the closest headbadge design I've seen.
 
The thread size, race diameter and ball bearing size is the same. What will give it away is if there’s a slot or a tongue cut all the way through the steerer to allow the head clip to grip the stem. Steerers for a conventional headset won’t have this, they’ll just have the shallow groove for the tab on the lock washer.

Apart from a few typically Raleigh top bikes early post war the head clip was 31/32 inch with about 1/2 inch thread 56 tpi. The fork column would have a vertical slot and two horizontal slots to allow the head clip to grip. The top ball race was normally 1/8 balls. The top head lug would accept a loose bearing cup of the type used by millions of roadster bikes.
