My Seat Post Hell

A dramatic title for a very undramatic thread.

I have a problem. I own several Raleigh MT3 frames of 19.25" size, which require me to use a 27.0 mm seat post, at least 400 mm long due to my extreme height (6' 3"), and with reasonable strength to support my weight (85 kg). No luck yet on ebay, which seems only to have crappy kalloy seat posts that I really wouldn't trust to do the job. Ideally I'd like something strong, or even over built, as I'm big on reliability. For a decent product, I'm willing to pay top dollar, and would consider any material. Retro or modern, I have no strong preference.

I'd like to hear from other forumers with ideas about which seat post would meet my needs.

Re:

I might have something in that size that may be suitable.

I know there is at least 1 syncros post and on easton ea50 plus another no-name one. Have to check the sizes, though....

Nothing wrong with Kalloy - they made just about everyone else's OEM posts.
and of the (probably) 50 or 60 posts I've had through the years, the only two I've broken have been kalloys.
One bent (I weighed 60kilos ffs!) the head popped off the other!

To the OP, why such a small frame? Or don't they come in larger sizes?

Thomson ? I'm 6'3" and fairly heavy ;)

The best seatposts for sure. And readily available in 27.0

Build quality is as good as it gets.
