Rocky Mountain Fan
Just finished my Rocky Mountain 1997 thin air rebuild. It is not entirely 1997, but the frame is a 1997 along with the majority of the rest of the parts (wheels are 1996 as far as I recall). The rest is from the early 2000's.
Parts have been found around Europe and I think the result is really good. Especially it was pure joy to have "new" and stronger wheels (went from 32 x 1.6mm spokes to 36 x 2.0mm spokes).
Some of the parts like the screws for the rapid-fire shifters and screws/washers for the front derailleur were impossible to find, but fortunately I have access to a machine shop, so I had the possibility to custom make them.
I am now on the hunt for the decals on the top tube and the down tube, but it has been hard to find good enough pictures to have them replicated, so if anyone has a similar bike with the decals still on, I would very much appreciate some high-res pictures
