Altronix
Dirt Disciple
This is an old Raleigh Medale. It's been stored in a barn for the last 15 years, and wasn't in good nick when it got put there believe me.
I'm a big fan of recycling bikes, there's not much that can't be fixed or replaced. This is also a handy excuse cos i'm on the dole and totally skint at the moment.
I really want this build to have a simple, classic vintage look to it. I'm really not a fan of dayglow paint jobs and multicolored wheels.
I stripped the paint myself, cut off various bit's like the gearchange and pump holder lugs. Braze filled a few dinks and dents.
Got it sprayed for free from a mate of my dads. All I had to do was the labor intensive rubbing down of the undercoat before the final coat.
Rummaging through boxes of bits I've stockpiled, came across a suitable Weinmann brake lever. And found my old 1950's Middlemore saddle I've had for 20 years.
Got the straight Nitto handlebar off ebay for a twelve quid inc post.
I'm after a pair of 24 spoke clincher type wheels for it. Deep-v or not, I'm not particularly fussed.
And I'm sizing up a nice pair of straight chrome forks for it.
