My next build .......opinions pls

Looking at either a Marin East Peak 1999 or a Specialized FSR Enduro (I think around 2000). What is the majority of opinion, anything to look out for (I've not bought the bikes yet). Is one considerably better than the other, what do the masses think. I believe the Marin is STX RC & the Specialize is Deore LX........

I personally prefer the look of the FSR as well as the way it rides. I had a first generation Mount Vision and it was OK, but I did prefer the FSR that I had after it.

Downside to the FSR is that it has more pivots, which means more money if anything is worn out.
