I thought i'd better start a thread as i've had it a while

I got this from matt24777 in a swap deal for my Kona U'hu frame. The Kona turned out too big and the Orange being 16" is my perfect size and i'd already decided i wanted to go steel and rigid.

It's just in mock-up stage at the moment as i need to get some bits off to Intrincycle for modification and anodizing.
I can't decide whether to get the NOS I-Beam stem anodized blue or not as the bar ends and brake lever bodies will also be blue.......too much???

Oh and do you think it needs a white or blue saddle?

Thoughts :?:

Nice to see it starting to take shape! Funnily enough the C16r I had BITD had a Club roost I Beam (Quill) stem!

The only thing is you will loose the logo if you have it anodised, Maybe get some blue Ti bolts and a blue stem cap? But then again I'm sure someone will come along in a mo and mention the seatpost & stem should match etc etc etc

I do like a bit of Ano so I'm not going to say it's ever too much! I have a project in the wings that has a ridiculous amount of ano going onto it, it's a matter of personal taste.

The fact the frame is white will help offset/highlight any colour on the bike so choose wisely!

Looking forward to seeing the end result. :D

Looks great!
Who cares if someone thinks its to much anno? It's yours mate, do it how you want. I love anno :)

My first retro re build is a c16r, have had it powder coated in white but with black decals and xtr950 components (more a retromod build I spose)

Will be watching :)

Niall.

Thanks guys :)

I think you've convinced me to get the stem done blue and then get Gil to make a new decal.
Now all i need is some caustic soda crystals :)

Ok gotta get this finished by next weekend, So.... Blue or White cables??
It will eventually get a white WTB Silverado saddle so i'm thinking white cables maybe too much?
OR
Blue gear and white brake?

It's still pretty much the same Matt bar some blue chainring bolts and now has the Ritchey bars fitted.
I'm putting it together with some substitute brake levers cos i want to do a local Retro road ride next Sunday 16th. as i haven't sent off the stuff to rampage yet to be anodized
