My latest Retro-love; Specialized Stumpjumper M2!

Brynk

Dirt Disciple
I’ve recently bought a “new” project; a Specialized Stumpjumper M2.

It was rough. Frame is good. Fork is rusted solid (RockShox). Shimano SL was bad and tires rotten. Stood on Mavic rims with DEORE rear hub and Specialized front hub.

I’ve stripped and cleaned it, and did som mock
Up, with the SR Suntour that previously was going on my Rudy Project. But that will get something else, eventually.

Can anyone ID year?

Re:

Not long been a member of the M2 club myself. Lots of experts on here but I've always understood that the the first two digits in the serial number donate the frames year of manufacture.

Whatever the year they ride really well so looking forward to pics of the finished build.

I may be wrong (often am) but I seem to remember Mango being 1998. And I think that's Mango.

Nice bike.

Re:

I have an orange Stumpjumper Pro from the same year. It's probably my favorite bike I've ever owned.
