So I thought I would start a thread with the topic of "my friends bike".
What I mean is this, I am sure that most of us have friends that might not be into the "retro" thing as we are but they still have a pretty cool retro bike or bikes. This is a way to show them off. It could even be a BOTM theme someday.:)
Anyhow, here is the first.
I have a friend that I race MTB and Cyclocross with that has this Salsa as his around town bike. He is not sure of the year, I say 90-91, but it is pretty cool. He does have the original Salsa stem that came with it but it's a 150 and it is just to long (insert joke hear) for his taste.
He also has a Yo Eddy Team in his basement with original fork that has the stamped top fork plate not the sticker. That bike is for next week.:)
So, let's see your friends bikes.

That's brilliant, and are they corks in the top of the fork legs?

I have a friend with a 1991 Cindercone, a 1992 Klein Attitude in green/white/pink, and an Orange X1.

This thread is a great idea, well for us two anyway.

Looks sweet, but tell him to put something in the bottle cage bosses and spray the inside of the frame with jp weigle framesaver before it´s too late!

So I finally convinced my friend that owns the Salsa above to race SS(single speed) with me. He has never race SS before so tomorrow night will be his fist attempt at it.
With that said, this is what he will be racing on:
Mid 90's Team Fat Chance Frame (frame has been sitting unused for 9 years)
Kooka cranks
Gilmour Fork
my old Chris King wheelset
Specialized Ti stem
Syncros Ti post
other odd parts.
This bike is sick! Very light.
Just had to share.
You never know what your neighbor might have hidding in their garage.:)

Cool thread with some cooler bikes!

Guess as time passes sadly things like this will become rarer and rarer as bikes like this find their way into the hands of enthusiasts (or even worse collectors ;) )
