Not sure if it is bad taste posting this right next to that sweet Lightning but here goes.
This is my trusty Zaskar LE. After trashing three Cannondales in a row with cracks around the seat collar I decided to build up a bomb-proof ride.
Not sure what year exactly this is, 92 or 93 I think. Because I worked in a bike store the build was in constant flux, part-wise. This final build is how it looked when I left the store and moved to the US in 1998.
Please note the blue anodized Ringle seat collar.
Cranks are the original I-beam Raceface and that's an Avid micro-adapter for granny-gear. Remember those?
The fork's a Mag21, one of the first we got into our store. Still works like new.
Brakes are the red Tomac Magura hydraulics.
I should probably give it a deep cleaning and polish to make it sparkle but there is something fundamentally wrong with a clean mountain bike imho.
