My bikez

Sniffer macaroon

Retro Newbie
Eastbourne has always proved a bountiful source of old mountain bikes and so it proved again when I picked up an MBK Aventure last month - since then it has languished in the garden.
Yesterday the MBK and I journeyed east from Truleigh Hill to Ditchling Beacon, where the HT707 inexternal welded frame proved surprisingly comfortable and the Exage Country gears shifted really well(!)
I really need to sort the rust out and find some lighter wheels in my stash but in the meantime I'm happy to cruise around at my customary sedate middle-aged speed.
The MBK currently resides in my living room which my family are graciously ignoring.

Nice colour scheme that

Fleetwood Mac say 'Go your own way' however 5 weeks and hundreds of miles I still can't make up my mind about the Concept K1 Aluminium. On the one hand it's almost comically slow on road and stretched out like a road bike. However on techy up hills it climbs like a mountain goat and flies on single-track. I bought it for £25 on Facebook marketplace and it seems to have most of its life in a shed with original STX-RC groupset and wheels.

I had bought it for it's components to build up a Zinn? Centaur frame but as the Clash keep reminding me 'Should I stay or should I go"?

Nevermind Let's explore!

LOL, that's the dilemma I always have. I recently picked up an '87 Marin as a parts bike, but now of course it's destined for a rebuild.

I had/have the same issue with a MS Racing Pro Comp XT I picked up as a parts bike. It doesn't ride particularly nicely compared to the other bikes in the shed so I think it will fulfill its original intent.

That is cool. Late 80’s tastic.

I remember there was a craze at the time for neon stuff - outer cables, Cosmic Trail frame bags etc.
