My bikes.

"Eight days into the new year with the resolution not to buy any bikes (🙄#deludedw@nke*r)I bought a rather nice Edison tourer. FFS four days later...."

And some people say you've no will power, Rob. Misguided bad-mouthers, say I!
HNY to you both.

The Eagle sure has landed at Guiness Towers! Not much for you to do with this one eh Bob? Nice bit of Suntour. I feel like this one is missing something but can’t quite put my finger on it… 🤔

Hang on, that’s it. 100% needs a period bottle dynamo light set-up, otherwise this resto will just be plain sailing! 😜

I'm so dim, 25 watt me🙄

I've had many Gals and a couple of Super Gals. I'll probably be flamed, but I think they are completely overated. I loved restoring and owning them but if they don't speak to you or make you think "This is great" they get sold.
My Randonneur, Royals in either 531 or 708 are far superior IMO.
Gals are a benchmark, they were so ubiquitous, and long lasting.
Other manufacturers probably made more effort on certain models to make a galaxy-beater.
(Can we say that? Do eagles wear string vests?)

It's actually quite poorly paint wise. All original, stem is too long.
I can think of better places for a bottle dynamo....

I agree, which is probably why I've had er let's say double figures 🥵
Edit, if I saw an original flam green with chrome in my size I'd struggle to walk on by.

A 1986 Super Galaxy for £50 was the gateway drug to my addiction...but like you I did it up and didn't enjoy riding it that much so on to ebay it went, actually got over £300 quid for it I seem to remember. Much preferred my Mk1 Thorn Audax, but sold that too.

I have the Coventry Eagle branded version of the Touristique. Done a couple of 3 day tours on it, punches way above the brands rep - brilliantly neutral handling fully laden and smooth as mile muncher. This looks very original.

Just the saddle, pedals and bar tape have been changed. Still has the Specialized touring tyres on. Don't think it's done much mileage as the rims are unworn. The frame appears to be very nicely made. The reinforcement around the bottle cage, low rider mounts is very nice.
