My 1997 gt zaskar shimano xtrm950 groupset looking for a xtr m950 front hub and levers if any Is going for sale btw hope admin doesn't mind asking on a pic showing off my nice 19lb bike!

No way that’s 19lbs unfortunately. More like 24-25 I’d say as I’ve got one same/smaller and lighter bits

It was weighed in at 19lb by my lbs this weight wasn't made by myself I don't know why you'd be trying to put the bike down to be honest

If you are chasing a low weight there are several places on that you can save plenty but it’s unfortunately not a sub 20lb build

Doesn’t make any less of a nice bike don’t underestimate how hard it is to get a Zaskar with suspension below that mark.

Looks like a pretty leighweight build to me - especially with the SL forks And XTR kit.

Very cool bike. I love old GT's this is my 95 Zaskar LE. Roughly 24 lbs. And my 99 or 2000 Mongoose Pro titanium with Spox wheels and a SID fork. Roughly 23 lbs.

Agreed, lbs scale may be off, nice to know the approx weight for me too. My 96' could go on a bit more of a diet (at great expense) but being my only front suspension bike it's also my heaviest at a very respectable 24lb 2oz. I don't mind the extra weight one bit. To get my BOTE below 20lb took a lot of effort and $$

My 16 inch 96 LE did have full XTR M952 (inc cassette , Rockshox SID and Crossmax mk1 (basically as a 97/98 LE came and weighed 22.5 pounds inc Pedals.

That bike is now different spec as I used that XTR on a Ti Lightning. The Lightning as a comparison is full XTR , 517 , Wildgripper sprint , Ti bars , Flite etc and weighs 22 on the nose. It’s very hard to build a period correct 19 lb bike when starting with a relatively heavy frame and not going exotic.
