I bought the Holdsworth Pro frame in 1974 for £37 when it was originally finished in yellow. Not having much cash at the time, I built it up with lower end components - SR chainset, Triplex fron changer, Shimano Crane rear mech., weinman brakes, GB bars and stem, second hand mavic wheels etc. Raced it in 74, 75 & 76 seasons in road and TT events. This year I decided to update it by having it enamelled in team colours and re-equipping with the kit it should have been fitted if I had had the cash at the time. So, its now sports - Campag Record brakes, levers, pedals, Hubs, Nuovo Record Mechs, Cinelli bars & stem, Unicantor saddle, TTT seat post, Christophie Toe Clips. The rims are Halo Retro with Michlin Dynamic Classic pressures (as they would have been referred to in 1974). It's a great, responsive and comfortable ride and not much heavier than my modern bikes.
