This was a bit of an Ebay bargain a Townsend battered & torn,.... and with a bit of work & care.......... became a Muddy Fox reborn!

Is that the frame with the 531 tubes pink & black originaly? if it is looks like you have got rid of the biopace chainset (never liked it but too tight to replace 2 of them mine & wifes). In my opinion the frames are good, light & handle well but lost out because you can only fit upto 1.85 tyres on the back. I have got to do up our 2 very soon lots of surface rust now but after 23 years abuse what can you expect.

Looks like you have done a very good job of rebuilding it.

Posted ours on here about a week ago if you fancy a look at near standard ones.

Cheers for that Phil il have a look at yours.
The tubing on this one is Reynolds 501 and the yellow is the original colour, i just dont know what Townsend model it was back in the day as the stickers on the top tube were really worn. I just managed to get it back to looking half decent with loads of polishing! The headset stem & bars (cowhorn type) were pretty rusted so replaced those and it is a lovely bike to ride,also added new pedals a seat & cables & it is very solid and is so quiet! Anyway have put it in the bike of the month section too, well you never know!!
