Muddy Fox Courier components?

Dirt Disciple
Hi, I recently acquired a 1987 Muddy Fox Courier and I am trying to find the original component specification for this vintage MTB.

Unfortunately I had to bin the frame, which had a completely seized seat post pushed all the way in, but the parts and wheels are complete and I want to sell them as a complete and original group set but first would like to make sure what I have stripped off the frame, cleaned and serviced, was what the bike was originally built with.

I have only found one image online with this info, but the critical text is illegible.

Can anyone please point me in the direction of an online document, which lists the original build specification of this classic?

Ill have a look for you to see what i have.

Looking a the small pic you have provided, and i cant see it very well, but im guessing the chainset and sprockets have been replaced in the bikes life, as they look too new for original spec.

Re:

Off the top of my head it was the following...

Suntour XC5000 - indexed shifters, front and rear mechs. (I think '87 Explorers had XC9000, '88 Explorer's had XCD6000)

Sugino cranks (Possibly VP, but that may have been a year later)

Araya 7s alloy rims I think

Sugino or Sansin sealed hubs.

Panaracer Ibex II tyres.

Dia Compe SX7 (?) Cantilever brakes and levers.

Sorry it's a bit vague but the scan was mine I thnk and no idea where the original is, so this is all off the top of my head of my 87 courier.

Chainset is definitely not from the bike, the one you have there is either 300lx or 200gs which were 1990 onwards. I think the rear wheel has been replaced as the hub should be a large flange sansin like the front.

1987 courier didn’t have a group set as such it was still one of the old skool select some parts that were suited to the bike at the price point.

Many thanks for sharing your thoughts Sinnerman, Augustus and drcarlos :)
It seems that apart from the rear hub and crankset, the rest is original component spec (as fitted to the 1987 Muddy Fox)

I've still sort of got mine. I say sort of as a) i splatter coated it like a Kona in 1988 :-(. and b), it's in my friend's shed with his NOS '88 Explorer and his sister's NOS 88 Tufftrax.
