It's as old as I'm prepared to go Andrew!

Long wheelbases, U brakes. Not for me.

Wait for it !

Re:

As a matter of interest, is the route suitable for an 80's 30-pound bike, i.e. not too hilly? Or would something a tad more modern be better?

Cheers,
Andrew

Re:

Would it be SS friendly as you say it's not going to be "hectic" she's not not been out for a good while so maybe time for spin ;)

It is hilly, but not steep or technical just longish climbs typical of the South Downs really. I would say it will be along the same kind of lines as the rides that we've been on with Mike before.

Andyz I remember you being fairly speedy (I think did you have an Overburys?) so I would think you'd be fine on a 30 lb bike, I've not been on the best form lately so I wouldn't think you'd be the slowest by any means.

Godders a SS would certainly be doable although I think it would be hard work on some of the climbs. I suppose it depends on how much you ride it? I think you'll be fine but if you're worried bring the trusty Cannondale.

Hello all, I've had a change of mind about the meeting place for this ride. I realised that by meeting out in the country we would miss out on a few miles of pretty good trails so I thought it would be best if we met outside The Wheelwrights Arms pub in Havant. Full Address is 27 Emsworth Road, Havant, Hampshire, PO9 2SN. Here is a link to the pubs website and a map to find it,

http://www.wheelwrightshavant.co.uk/pag ... ind-Us.htm

It's also a lot easier to find than the original meeting place, it's only just off the A27 if you're driving and if you want to come by train (might be easier for you guys just along the coast?), Havant train station is just round the corner. We'll have to ride a bit of road for a mile or so before we get off road but nothing too bad. Hope that's all ok and everyone is still up for it.

Oh yeah sorry I forgot, there is free parking in the nearby roads, Bellair Road is probably the best bit which is marked on the map. Probably not best to park in the pub car park, unless you're planning on having breakfast there first!
