I snapped mine at behind the head tube welds. I hit a tree on a downhill singletrack, on the edge of a forest, at night, in the snow!! The top tube join broke clean off and the down tube weld came away around the top of the tube. The straight forks were bent back so that I couldn't steer. We managed to pull the forks forward again which also pushed the head tube back into a better position, and then I rode it home. Very slowly...
My Dad took it to a frame builder in Stockton/Middlesbrough (I think?) called Donohue, who then rebuilt the front and added Project 2 forks and resprayed it metallic blue/purple with silver splatter! (It was nearly the Nineties )
Anyway, a year later I sold the bike to a school friend and I bought a Kona Explosif, but he still has the bike and it's in a usable condition, but hasn't ridden it for years.
