No, the crown race shim allows the fitting of a crown-race.

The Pace steerer tubes are straight gauge, so the crown-race would be lose (most steerers are slightly wider at the crown to fit the race) So, the shim allows the race to fit ie. not be lose.

The shims I have for sale are for an 1 1/8" set-up only.
