Mountain Mayhem Returns 2019 let the planning and BS begin

What’s that about stiff tent poles?

@Cloister
I’d definitely recommend two lights, whenever and however possible. A bar-mounted for the trail ahead and helmet-mounted to aid your view of the trail ahead, help provide a better perspective by eliminating shadows (or even highlighting them in other respects) and double the power means if one suffers a problem then you’ll have a second to ‘get you home’. I’d say essential for unfamiliar terrain, even if it’s not mandatory.

I remember one of the gang hiring a set in 2016, Wi(n)dowmaker I think it was. I’m fairly sure light hire is available again this year for others wondering.

I found my old bike light - I think it's a Cateye?

Bonus points to ANYONE who rides a night lap at mayhem with it. It still works, and teh 4AA batteries put out about as much light as a glow-worm. Truly unbelievable that I could ever ride with it back then.

Came across a gift from the Highways agency - found it buried in a hedge this afternoon when getting out of the rain during a dog walk

Battery is obviously flat but it works and I have stand in - just need the road cone now to sit it on and we’re good to go with another night light for the track :D

Mrs Spud and Mini Spuddetta found these in a charity shop yesterday and though the strange guy who builds those weird bike with zillions of handlebars might find a use for them :shock:
