Mountain mayhem 2019 aftermath thread

I'll never forget my first mayhem in 2017. I had zero offroad skill, zero confidence and a bike built out of scrap parts 2 days before the event. Oh yeah and the bike, my spares and my camping gear on a train journey was interesting. (Passed my driving test 2 weeks later).

Best weekend ever thanks to you crazy lot.

2019 on the other hand...well I'm still suffering from the broken ankle that I said wasn't broken and drove home on. Whoops 🤣

Picked you up from Stroud station to save a long trek up Mitchenhampton hill
And then we abandoned you on Sunday evening with Andy and his chef 😂

The Intruder was a second home for me that weekend. Then trying to ride back to the station on Monday morning with my tent tied to my handlebars, sleeping bag to my saddle, spares in a bag attached to my frame and a camping bag the size of Cornwall on my back. I only had 2 things fall off en route. One of which was me

Definitely need to do a Retrobike tribute bike for this year's 24 hour challenge.

That 2019 event was a beacon of bright light during a year that almost ended me.

If it hadn't been for the people that dragged me out of that oblivion and bullied me into having a good time, I don't want to think further

I have been happier every day since despite the odd wobble and will be eternally grateful for the people and memories
