My last lap was my fastest! 42m 56s. I should have tried harder on the others clearly there was still fuel in the tank :facepalm:
You'd think that the one place a retro bike wouldn't be any good would be braking into corners during decents, but my 80s pattern tyres, 20 year-old cantis and elastomer forks seemed to offer no discernable disadvantage. The 1990 Kona made out of scaffold pipe and fully rigid was noticeably worse than the 1995 DBR though - but it looks cooler so it all balances out
Was happy with my 6 laps (4 on the Fat Ti and 2 night laps on my Niner). All between 45 and 50 minutes. The Fat was ace, first time I'd ridden it.
Pity my Niners weight weenie seatpost collar meant I had to stop 3 times on each lap to put the seatpost up :facepalm: Reckon I was slower on the downhills on it too, not as confidence inspiring.
