Mountain Mayhem 2014 **AFTERMATH **

Re:

Very hot and only got 1 hour of sleep, but I still have a silly grin on my face when I think about the heckling!

Just brilliant! :D

Re:

Great weekend, very hot which was energy sapping as was my single speed! Good to meet up with the RB guys again ( nice tent JV). Our four man team managed 37 laps which gave us 9th place which I'm really pleased with. Think its gong to take a few days to recover from!

Re:

Where do i start but to say sadly i think this may be my last mayhem due to i cannot tolerate drinking beer with no music after 10pm, it is just plain rude. As for the general daytime fun and games it was pleasant if not argumentative weekend which all went in my favour so i found this to be excellent.

I must thank pat for letting me deal with the general retrobike woes a day before in order to save my sanity. I must inform the man who shut down my party that i do not understand people who decide to bring a baby into a non quite zone and expect silence. He is the sort of person who would camp at glastonbury and expect total silence after 7pm. These people just need shouting at but i was polite so i suppose that shows i do have a human side, even though it did take half an hour for such a request from the man to register in my thought process hummmm.

I must thank the people who indulged in my intelligent format of conversation, and i must also thank my many helpers to see me through the weekend, and that sums up my mayhem really.

thanks andy.

PS Pat if you are reading this please do camp a for quite, camp b for families, and camp c for noisy people like me next year, as you can tell i don't get away from the wife much LOL.

...My 2 penneth...the course was better mainly due to the dryness and the climbs weren't as silly. I really enjoyed the 2 laps I managed (7-8pm and 6-7am). The trackside camping was a real improvement and during the day there was a real party atmosphere with free beer/boobies/cheesecake on offer to the passing bikers! Sadly the site was mixed camping with families with young children that needed to sleep etc so they had imposed a 10pm curfew! All music and generators off by 10, and evening loud speaking was jumped upon! (the last one really screwed Andy!). But being the kind of guys we are the heckling continued...in whispered tones! Again the heckler mega phone had me in stitches with John and Paul's delivery was spot on! Polite yet witty, sprinkled with a healthy dose of tongue in cheek encouragement! The company was awesome as usual and great to see some friendly faces and some new. Andy surpassed himself this year and the Intruder came with a 2 man operational crew! Overall I will be going again next year!

Re:

Great weather, great company, great course and a welcome return of track-side heckling.

Of the five Mayhems I've been to with Retrobike, this one comes up just short of my first one in 2010. Which is very much a positive.

Nice to see wookiee got a shot of me helping that fixing that rider's chain. I didn't just heckle.

I'll post up my pictures in a while. Just got back home after a long hot journey back up north.

21 laps in total from our one man down four man team.
