This started off as one bike and then I added another as a project.
I think this first one is a 1998; but could be just either side.
I've a couple of different length shocks to play with, but I think it will probably end up with a non-remote shock, slightly lower BB height and a SC White Brothers fork.

Never bothered updating this, lots of things have happened over the past couple of years.
Between lockdowns in 2020 I picked up another project, I'll add it to this thread as I've ended up combining the two bikes.

The silver/chrome one whilst in lovely condition wasn't built as I'd have one, so I figured I could do something different with this one.
It didn't look very pretty though so needed stripping, painting, polishing, etc.

Decided to paint the main frame the same colour as it was and got some new stickers from Gil.

Had a few options for forks and with the adjustability in the frame it could be setup in a number of ways.

Risse Champs? Look great but they're just really, really bad forks. They're pretty short a-c for the travel (which isn't that impressive either)
Bombers of some sort? I put on some QR20s to see, felt nicer than the Champs and would give me something I might actually ride but they'd need to be stripped and polished or better still upgraded.

Made the decision about this point that I couldn't justify keeping both bikes and I wanted to build this one as something I could ride but would look nice too. To be honest I've got more modern bikes for aggressive riding so if this was built to DH spec. it'd only get hung up and look cool

Lower travel spec. it is with a set of SC Shivers.

The piggy back shock limits the adjustment and I wanted to run a slacker head angle and lower the BB on the original bike so I played about with a couple of different shocks and made an offset bush for this one.

Very cool 😎 I am a big fan of mountain cycles are my rumble in 2002. While i was reading I was thinking some shivers or dorados would look ace on this. Didn’t think about the SC. looking forward to seeing the final build.
