actually WD40 being a penetrating fluid is very useful.

The better of my LBS's told me they'd stop using it and switched to that GT stuff.

GT-85 I presume, isn't that a spray grease and not a penetrating fluid ?

WD40 is not for oiling or greasing things.

Though I've got some spray grease from Lidl and use it for the pram now
I still use my 1994 finish line grease
My black gold ran out...

They said that they used it for both jobs and that was the trend in the trade, because WD40 contains "salt". By which I took them to mean "leaves deposits"???
