Most agressive platform pedals for 1995-97 period?

Which?
Need an oldshcool platform pedals of period 94-97 with standard 9/16" axle. Need for 1990s Downhill bike project. Will be better to find it in red color :)
I just found old Shimano PD-MX15 - great platform pedals in red color from 1980s but there are 1/2 threads for one piece cranks only.
May be you know other brands?
Thanks.

Odyssey Shark Bites? Those things will bite the f@#$ out of your shins! Can't get much more aggressive than that.

I bought a NOS set for $33 USD not long ago so I'm not saying I'd buy this set and it's 1/2 inch. The Odyssey Svelte would be a more traditional pedal that is also excellent but I don't know if I've seen them in red.

They also made a 'triple trap ' design that might be OK for DH.

Thanks, but it's 1/2" Spindle for old BMX cranks..... and I need a pedals with classic axle - 9/16" for MTB cranks.
Yeah, second link is better, will think about it. Thanks.

But what about one-piece platform design like Shimano MX? What brands was popular in middle 90s?

I told you what I paid for mine.... if you REALLY like them and want to make it worth my while I might sell them and wait for another pair. I really like Odyssey pedals. I rebuilt them because the grease had gone dryish and they are mounted on my GT Zaskar presently.

This is the set I bought - ridden only a couple times since.

EDIT: When I rebuilt mine I noticed a bit of a not-so-smooth axle surface. It seemed if I didn't loosen them a proper amount there was a very small inconsistency in the bearing contact surfaces of one pedal. They seem fine to me after proper adjustment but this was the first time I had noticed any sort of issue with numerous Odyssey pedals. NOT looking to sell mine - just full disclosure on a friendly offer if RBer simply cannot wait for an item.

For starters, I'd visit Bike Pro.

It recently 'went down' for a couple days (so backing it up might not be a bad idea for hardcore RBers) and IMO it is an invaluable source for people interested in old bike parts. Not sure if it covers up to 97-98 but it's a great starting point.

VP did some DX platform copies back in the day, which tend to go for a lot less than DX if you can find them.

if you want a more modern pedal that looks the part, check out VP XC2 pedals and VP 747's , cheap and good quality.

or onza triple traps.

I agree with the other poster though in that ideally you want shark bites

Thank you.
I think I will try to find an original DX of 80s-90s or something similar of that time with similar "one-piece" design.
I'm not interesting a copies or cheap pedals. I need great pedals of that time in good or NOS condition and don't care about money :)

this is what i meant, i have these on my daily rider and i only use flats.
I got them second hand and have been using them on three different bikes over three years.

They will polish up a treat , are period correct and easily serviceable and a dead ringer for old style DX

they should go cheap too ;)
