I bought the purple thomson from a California bike shop about 3 months ago, there were 3 of them (and one green one). I don't know the history of whether they were custom made or a factory series.

They stated on their homepage they wont make any purple seatposts (Thomson). So you can buy them in purple now?!

I just picked up a cheap black XTR seatpost. I've been trying to find an affordable one for a couple of years. The other seatposts have all been bought in the last couple of months also.
