Jb1996

Retro Newbie
IMG_4859.webp I’ve recently acquired this Paris frameset and would love to know more about it.

Overall condition is great and it appears to have been resprayed. The number beneath the bb is 1016.

Any help with regards to its age, authenticity or other useful information would be really appreciated.

Cheers!

Looks like a refinished 50s or earlier frame. Probably earlier, going on the low-down bend in the fork and the Osgear style rear dropouts, but having said that, my Hobbs has a low bend like that and it’s 1950. Canti studs were probably added later.

As bagpuss said, can you post some more pics of the lugs on the head tube and seat cluster? They look pretty distinct and It’ll be those that’ll probably identify the frame. It might be a matter of trawling the classic lightweights site until you spot a builder whose lugwork matches 👍

Evening everyone,

Thank you so much for your help so far.

Please see pictures of the lug work below, apologies if there’s anything I’ve missed!
