Modolo and Mafac Canti Front Cable Stop???

Does anyone know if I'm setting this up right?

The front cable hanger is very slim and doesnt have the aperture for an adjustable barrell stop. So do I just run the cable through it with a ferrule?
Sorry the pics are a bit out of focus...

Ferrule should have a step on it.
Sometimes you can use one of those cable stops that fit in a vintage drop lever.
