Kudos

That bike looks great. I'd love to ride one like it one day.

Also I bet it weighs naff-all (tyres excused).

:D Yeh, I don't know the actual weight but my 20lb singlespeed Vicious feels like it is made of scaffolding next to the Merlin.

I just shed a tear, mate... what a beautiful bike. Too bad it's not giving you the love! Know what you mean though... sometimes... you just don't feel it. I have a similar problem with my non-retro seven alaris race I'm building up. Just not feeling very inspired!

It's cos you're doing it wrong Carl.

Merlin, Ibis. This is american stuff - and niche at that. Very brave to try a first road build on stuff like this as it is oddball. Just look at that headtube!

Try something a little more mainstream and you'll feel the love, promise....

It's very hard to make road bikes that are individual and at the same time visually appealing, which is why the "groupset" was and is prevalent.

Try something with a normal headtube and maybe a normal headset instead of in integrated unit... If you need the high front end, then a slope....

Another thing is that ti road bikes aren't for everyone. I've tried a fair few in my time and never been convinced that it outperforms steel in terms of "feel". Even like for like (De Rosa Titanio with Record and my own wheels in same size as my Giro d'Italia/Record), I preferred the steel bike.
