For various reasons I'm looking for a new set of forks for the front of my modern crosser. Anyone recommend a set of strong & reliable forks in either carbon or steel. After an initial look quite like the look of the columbus tusk fork here > http://www.columbustubi.com/eng/4_2_21.htm . Otherwsie may just go for steel...

I'm happy with my Winwood Muddy carbon

Early ones had some brake stud flex and require heaps of pad toe in to stop the squealing/shuddering

Also heard good things about the Reynolds forks, but they have same brake stud issues

Hard to look past the Project 2 TB in 700c variety, for inexpensive and steel

Easton EC70 or EC90 forks

90s are sooo light but can suffer from brake judder with not perfectly set up cantilevers.

My EC90s work a treat with my 1992 Campagnolo MTB cantilevers and I've had zero issues using them off road while out with the local XC boys on their 80 - 120 mm bikes.
