Modern 1x12 eagle drivetrain slow gear changes ???

Our recent customer with fake cables bought off amazon next day delivery.
I wouldn't trust cheap unless it's out of date or style.
I dont think amazon police fakes any more than ebay, but maybe they do?

That price is below trade.

Additionally the print is different, but in particular yours are missing the metallic silver "squares" to the left of the title, which are a security feature🤔

Interesting I’ll have to check the actual packaging I received when I get home if I still have it. I’ll be contacting Amazon for a refund anyway as I think I threw the packaging away.
Bloody annoying!
Thanks for the heads up

Kyle

It's amazing it's worth their while faking cheap stuff, but the products are usually incredibly substandard so just don't work.

We were asked to set up a bike with full shimano "tourney" recently.
Took us a while to work out why it wouldn't index - it just didn't work, and on closer inspection, all lacking part numbers.
Shimano took it up with the seller.
Online obvs.

I'm going to send a screenshot of that packaging over to shimano technical support and see what they say.

Scary how many fakes are out there but just look on eBay for shimano derailleurs and plenty of fakes on there.

Ok great thanks I’ll be interested to see if they respond.

I experienced what you are describing on a setup once before and the issue was a cheap non Shimano gear cable. Swapped to Shimano and shifting was perfect I assumed the cheap cable stretched a bit on the upshift so wouldn’t move up a gear without the extra little push on the shifter.
Unless it’s a Shimano cable then maybe not this.

Kyle
I can't remember what cable I used, but it was new, maybe not Shimano but I think I bought it from CRC before they closed, outers are jagwire from a big loom I bought a while back. Will try and alternate cable, may have some Shimano kicking around.

Thanks
