Moderators' perks

Do moderators get to see all posts first inc. the for sale threads?

If so does that mean they see the bits they want to buy before anyone else? :? :?
If so it's wrong, if not and they see them the same time as any other browser then I apologise unreservedly for my cynicism.

Does a moderator moderate the content first? They usually do on other forums, why not this one.

Bearing in mind the time difference between when I post something and when it appears, then they cannot read it any time in advance of the rest of us.

Moderators on all the forums I've ever used in the last ten years have only been able to amend content after it has been posted.

Thus they will get no first dibs on for sale items.

Example : When spam is posted, we report it so a moderator can delete it.

Perks? Don't make me laugh.

All posts go out real time. No queing. No first crack for myself or the mods.

We miss the bargains just like everyone else.

Imagine being the bloke who would have to sit there approving every post before it went on the forum if it weren't real time

The mods on any website work so hard for the benefit of others and more often than not do it for free, in their time, so whilst others are at their leisure mods are working. Why do they do it well, it must just be because they believe in the website as a service to all.

But from other places I visit, I understand mods cannot get involved in threads that they are moderating, so as to avoid a form of sock puppeteering, winding someone up then getting out the big stick and moderating the reply, whether that happens here, I don't know, but fom what I have seen of here this place never gets that bad so as to need the big stick applying.

But if anyone thinks there is the perk in grabbing the bargains by being a mod, volunteer to be none and see if you get run down by the scooters to get the goodies when they appear.

But as to who is getting inthere first, well, I suspect the Germans.

Watch out for towels.
